NATURE IS A CENTRAL THEME IN GHIBLI`S FILMS ALONG WITH CRITICISM OF HUMANITY'S ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT
Overall the opposition "Man VS Nature" is rejected as a natural dichotomy and the narration stresses on the possibility of equilibrium. The consequences of an imbalance could be drastic for either side: nature is jnot just a pretty background but an integral character that retaliates if threatened.
Well, with the help of a friend and a vacation away from the bustling city she dreamed about when she left her rural parental home. During her retreat to the remote forest she found the inspiration and strenth within herself
Kiki lost her magic due to “teenage angst” and had to go through a lot to regain her peace of mind and come into herself as a young independent woman.

There is not much of a plot, the narration is soothing and flowing, the sceneries are exceptional, but the film explores the concept of animism - the belief that all natural things animate and inanimate possess a spiritual essence and deserve to be treated with respect.

Humans are not the center of the universe. if there is something we don’t understand or have no use for, doesn't mean it has no right to exist.

The plot circles around humans trying and failing to survive in the apocalypse and there are giant insects everywhere! These insects are admittedly repulsive and that's the point! They are meant to represent something unknown. It is easy to advocate for pandas, but what about these?
NAUSICAA COLLECTS MUSHROOM SPORES
IN THE FILM Nausicaa stresses that we can't discard or destroy LIFE FORMS of convenience, WE ARE ALL just fellow creatures trying to live. BESIDES, EVERYTHING IS THERE FOR a purpose.
Humans are trying to gain land for development by cutting down the forest and the forest spirits retaliate. It is a tense and complex story with no “bad guys”. With the main character, who is an outsider with no bias, we see two battling groups in desperation for survival. It's a realistic outlook on what many conflicts truly are like.
There is no happy ending, and the message is clear — there are consequences for our actions, either they are done unknowingly or on purpose.
FOREST SPIRIT
“Princess Mononoke” is set in the past: Japan is covered by ancient forests and people are coexisting with deities and spirits. New views are taking hold — people start to think they could control nature

“Ponyo” is a light story about a girl-fish who escapes OCEAN home and turns into a girl. SHE also unleashes a STORM on the coastal town bringing back ancient animals from the late Devonian period in the process.

HERE COMES THE STORM
The film hints about real-life extreme weather and natural disasters that are becoming a regular occurrence. The scenes of the flooding feel alarming, the ocean isn’t here to add to the scenery but something integral to communicate the idea of transformation and lack of control
